Does TermCanada charge a fee for its services?

No, we are compensated directly by the insurance company.

Who will be my insurance agent/broker?
Depending on which province you are located, TermCanada’s principal Chris Funnell, or one of his affiliated professionals

How long does the application process usually take?
The process generally takes 4-6 weeks from the time we submit your application, to the time your new policy is issued by the insurance company.

Can I get covered during this 4-6 week period?
Yes, many clients qualify for immediate “Temporary Life Insurance” which gives coverage during the 4-6 week application period.

What is a rating class?
The policy’s rating class is the risk category for which an applicant qualifies according to an insurance company’s underwriting guidelines. Usual rating classes are Preferred Plus (also called Elite), Preferred, and Standard. The rating class will determine the premium for the policy.

Will my premium change?
Once your policy has been put in force, the premium will be guaranteed not-to-increase during the guarantee period. Typical guarantee periods are 10 Years and 20 Years.

Can I pay with a credit card?
Most insurance companies require payment by monthly ‘Preauthorized Debit” form a bank account, or by annual cheque. However, you can check with your broker to see if the company you have chosen is accepting credit cards.
